Getting Unstuck in Your Bible Reading When you go to spend time in God's Word, do you sometimes feel, well... stalled? Maybe you've struggled to make Bible reading a daily habit. Or maybe sometimes you feel like you're just going through the motions. Every now and then, our discipline in pursuing God's Word gets out of alignment with our passion for what He's saying. Because almost everyone experiences dry seasons from time to time, we've put together some tips to help you get unstuck: - Read from different versions. Just click the current version button (upper right), and the Bible App displays all available versions. See which one gives you a different perspective.
- Listen. Try listening to audio Bibles. You can listen instead of reading, or listen and read along.
- Read with others. Commit to go through a reading plan together or even get together with others and take turns reading aloud.
- Read differently. Instead of reading the same ways you always have, try something different. Look online for alternative reading techniques like SOAP, meditative reading, lectio divina, exegetical reading, extended reading (reading longer passages in one sitting), and more.

| | Did You Know? | | Need another way to help you keep your Bible habit fresh? The Bible App on iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) and on Android can remind you to read your plan at a time during the day that's most convenient for you. Is your best time early in the morning? During your lunch break? At night after your kids are in bed? Just go to your Plan settings (the gear icon), switch Reminder to ON, and set the time. At the time you set, the Bible App will pop up a polite reminder on your device. |
