Let the Bible App read to you.

51 times every second, people from all over the world click "Play" on another audio chapter of the Bible inside the Bible App. Just imagine: listening to God's Word while you exercise, while you get ready for work, during your commute — or whenever you want.* You might even enjoy listening as you read along. It's easy…

Inside the Bible App, anytime you see a speaker icon in the menu above the Bible text, tap it.

And if you don't see a speaker icon above the Bible version you happen to be reading:

  • Tap the version abbreviation at the top of the app.
  • Select another version — one with a speaker icon next to it.
  • When you return to the Bible reader, tap the speaker icon.

Now even one verse at a time.

In an all-new Bible App feature, several of our audio Bibles can now read to you one verse at a time (as opposed to an entire chapter at a time). Try listening to the daily passages from one of your subscribed Bible Plans with one of these audio Bible versions:

English Standard Version (ESV)
King James Version (KJV)
New International Version (NIV)
New Living Translation (NLT)

Select Bible App platforms even offer advanced audio playback features:

You can:

  • Select the playback speed you want.
  • Skip backward or forward 30 seconds.
  • Set the playback Timer, and make God's Word the soundtrack to whatever you're doing.

When you select a Bible version that features audio, a play/pause button appears at the bottom, "floating" above the Bible text, to let you begin listening with just one tap. (Choose whether to show or hide this floating button with the "Show Controls" switch.)

*Audio Bibles are best experienced over Wi-Fi. If you don't have Wi-Fi available when you listen, be aware of your device plan's data limits and restrictions. Not all Bibles feature audio. If you don't see a speaker icon, tap your current Bible version, then choose another one that has a speaker next to it.
